Job Interview Techniques

Whether it’s your first interview or your 100th interview, generally all job interviews can create some type of stress.

To assist our clients at MyBetterFuture.com we have created a few interview techniques by appearance for a more comfortable interview and to help establish more confidence in yourself for a better success.

When meeting someone whether it is a potential employee, or just meeting a new person, the first 10 seconds of meeting that person creates first impressions. First impressions can be the most vital beginning of any interview. We will begin with the most basic interview tips considering an interviewers point of view and what they are thinking and seeing during the first 10 seconds.

The first 10 seconds of an interview creates a sub-conscious awareness of the potential employee in the interviews mind. The first three hiring factors that appear to the interviewer are the facial expressions, appearance in dress, and confidence level.

Our number one job interview technique is to show confidence in your bright eyes, and terrific smile.

As the potential employee of this company, consider your facial expression. The first are the eyes. Are the eyes bright? Meaning, are they full of life, and glowing with excitement to join this company?

Create energy in your facial expression that is full of life, excitement, and passion. Create an appearance in your eyes and superior smile for success that are beaming with passion to join this company. How? Do this by practicing in the mirror and taking note of the energy in your facial expressions of the desire and confidence of the beginnings of a new life by joining a new company. Display your successful facial expressions at your job interview and pursue the following points:
• Make sure your teeth are polished nicely and you have good smelling breath.
• If you are a woman, properly apply makeup in a professional manner that highlights the brightness of your eyes and lips. Lipstick should not be dark and glossy as in eveningwear, however do add gentle color to your lips, eyes, and cheekbones. A clean, fresh professional appearance focusing on widening the eyes for a more attentive look, and a pleasing color to the lip area.
• If you are a man, do have a fresh clean shave, along with trimmed nasal and ear hair. If lips are chapped apply chapstick to lips days prior to interview.
• Remember maintain your successful smile and bright eyes throughout your interview.

Our number two-job interview technique is to dress for success.

Though you may have all the confidence gleaming about you, you must dress successful. If you are a woman or a man, the most successful colors to be worn to a job interview is navy blue. Navy blue creates a clean, organized professional look.
• If you are a woman, consider wearing a navy blue skirt and jacket, or navy blue trousers with a navy blue jacket. Along with your suit wear low pump navy blue heals, along with simple jewelry. Simple jewelry is considered stud earrings, a thin-chained necklace, a watch and bracelet.
• If you are a man, consider wearing --------------------------
• For men and women, along with dressing for success, keep hair very neat, clean, and tidy to match your clean professional attire.

Our number three-job interview technique by appearance is displaying physical confidence throughout your interview.

How do you do this? Remember that a basic number one requirement in marketing is to sell yourself first, and you are marketing yourself to this new company. Believe in yourself and your work. Create in your mind energy of confidence in yourself. Look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself, you are valuable and precious inside and out. Remember to believe, realize, and understand that you will be an asset to this new company.

Whether you are a man or a woman, apply the following physical confidence techniques before and during your job interview:
• Arrive early to your job interview otherwise your confidence level will already begin to deteriorate. Remember early is on time and on time is late!
• Before walking into the company that you are applying to--SMILE
• When walking into the office of the interviewer, walk with a good speed. Not to fast, and not too slow, but walk briskly.
• While walking into the office with a brisk walk, carry your head slightly tilted up, with shoulders back.
• When its time for the greeting handshake: Smile--hold your hand out, shake their hand firmly, not hard, and hold their hand with firmness for 2-3 seconds, and introduce yourself with a clear, sturdy voice, and maintaining eye contact.
• Remain standing straight, with shoulders back until asked to be seated.
• When seated, sit tall with shoulders back.
• When speaking and when being spoken to, maintain constant eye contact.
• Maintain throughout the interview the confidence and brightness in your eyes.
• Maintain throughout the interview a positive bright smile,
• Even during a bumpy moment of an interview maintain the brightness of the eyes and smile
• When leaving your job interview, with a clear toned voice, kindly thank the interviewer for a pleasant interview while handshaking.
All tips and suggestions are made in good faith for your successful interview, however we are under no circumstances responsible for anything or any job interview not working for you.
